A native of St. Louis, Mike MacRae moved to Houston in 1995 where he first started performing comedy at local college events. After graduating from Rice University in 1999, Mike started performing at the legendary Houston Laff Stop, where he soon developed his trademark blend of insightful social and cultural commentary with uncanny, unique impressions. In 2001, Mike made his television debut on Comedy Central's "Premium Blend", and in 2002 was selected 'Best Local Comedian' by the Houston Press. He is also a regular on the syndicated morning radio program 'The Bob and Tom Show', and provided two tracks for their latest CD release. Mike is a favorite feature act in comedy clubs all over the country, and has lent his distinctive voice to dozens of popular anime cartoons. When he isn't performing solo, he unites, Voltron-style, with five other Houston comics to form the infamous Whiskey Brothers. Mike MacRae would never, ever, under any circumstances describe himself as 'edgy.' DVD extras: Read Mike's bio in German
Mike's bio with sarcastic commentary A native of St. Louis, Mike MacRae moved to Houston in 1995 where he first started performing comedy at local college events. After graduating from Rice University [really? Put your alma mater in your comedy bio? Why don’t you tell us about your GPA and extra-curricular activities also, sporty spice.] in 1999, Mike started performing at the legendary [Legendary. Yeah, a lot of dragons and unicorns hang out there. ‘ Yea verily, after open mic we shall seek the cup of Christ!’] Houston Laff Stop, where he soon developed his trademark blend of insightful social and cultural commentary [OK. Have you actually seen your own act? I’d rather watch Noam Chomsky on Quaaludes do six hours of Howie Mandel material] with uncanny, unique impressions [Oh, is that what you call doing a Rip Torn impression that no one recognizes? Brilliant! Get me Lorne Michaels on the phone]. In 2001, Mike made his television debut on Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend”, and in 2002 was selected ‘Best Local Comedian’ by the Houston Press [Gee, you wouldn’t happen to have any friends who work for, oh, I don’t know…Comedy Central and the Houston Press, would you?]. He is also a regular on the syndicated morning radio program ‘The Bob and Tom Show’, and provided two tracks for their latest CD release [Good. I’ll listen to the CD and then use it as a coaster for the 18 Long Island Ice Teas I’ll need to forget the wormhole-inducing intensity of your crappiness]. Mike is a favorite feature act in comedy clubs all over the country, and has lent his distinctive voice to dozens of popular anime cartoons [That’s right, kids! Go see Mike MacRae! He played Operator #4 in Gasarasarikitikitavinagasaki 7! I bet he’s hilaaaaarious!]. When he isn’t performing solo, he unites, Voltron-style [yeah, if Voltron wore a cheap tuxedo and drank apple juice disguised as whiskey], with five other Houston comics to form the infamous [if by that you mean ‘not famous’] Whiskey Brothers. Mike MacRae would never, ever, under any circumstances describe himself as ‘edgy.’ [Because the comedy gods would smite you]
